Rene is a career federal employee who began her tenure with the Department of Defense in 1986. After earning her Bachelor of Science Degree, she joined the Department of Justice’s, Office of Justice Programs, in 1998. The office she worked in transitioned into the Department of Homeland Security and later into FEMA. She had worked as a Program Manager for the Homeland Security State Grant Program for over 10 years prior to transferring to the Port Security Grant Program in 2009.
