Melanie Magee

Melanie Magee is the Infrastructure and Ozone Section Manager for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6. She has an extensive background in the development of various Clean Air Act (CAA) regulatory actions and is responsible for leading the review and analysis of air pollution strategies to meet the CAA requirements. Ms. Magee is also focused on advancing collaboration and partnerships to help improve air quality around ports.
 
Ms. Magee previously worked as an Environmental Engineer for the EPA Region 6 Water Division, the EPA’s Gulf of Mexico Division, and the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ). Her focus with the EPA Region 6 Water Division and at the Gulf of Mexico Division was to provide engineering project support, development, and management of coastal wetlands conservation and restoration projects to improve water and habitat quality throughout the Mississippi River Basin. While at MDEQ, she held several positions that focused on air and water permitting as well as compliance and enforcement issues.
 
Ms. Magee earned her Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Mississippi and her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University.
