Jody Peacock serves as Chief Executive Officer for the Ports of Indiana, a statewide port authority operating three ports on the Ohio River and Lake Michigan that generate $8 billion per year in economic impact. He was appointed CEO in 2023 after serving in leadership roles with Ports of Indiana since 2001 and was most recently Senior Vice President of Business Development.
Mr. Peacock received his MBA from Indiana University Kelley School of Business and has been appointed by three Indiana governors to serve on regional and international boards, including the Great Lakes Commission, Great Lakes Governors & Premiers Regional Maritime Initiative, and the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund Committee.
During his 22 years with Ports of Indiana, Mr. Peacock led numerous initiatives to help the organization transition from a modest state-financed agency into an internationally-focused self-funded enterprise. This included authoring transformational strategic and legislative initiatives to give Ports of Indiana statewide powers, raising the organization’s profile and winning 20 international communications awards, and securing $60 million in federal grants while attracting $1 billion in private investments to Indiana’s ports.
Mr. Peacock is a native Hoosier, who grew up on a pig farm in Union City, Ind., studied journalism at Ohio Wesleyan University and was an award-winning journalist with Gannett News Service prior to joining Ports of Indiana. He now lives in northwest Indianapolis with his wife, Dr. Orla Hart, and their two children.
