Jonathan (Jon) Sawicki is an Associate Managing Director at Witt O’Brien’s with over 15 years of experience serving clients in the chemical, energy, and transportation system(s) sectors. He has supported communities, corporations, and port authorities throughout the United States and internationally. Major projects have included work in USCG Sectors Puget Sound, Columbia River, San Diego, Honolulu, Corpus Christi, New Orleans, and Houston-Galveston. Internationally, he has worked throughout South America, the Caribbean, and West Africa.

Jon provides expert guidance on the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA). His background includes significant experience with U.S. federal grants program management, security and emergency response program development, and the conduct of Waterway Suitability Assessments (WSA) to assist clients and stakeholders with planning for the safe and secure transportation of LNG & LHG products within U.S. waterways. As an industry-recognized Subject Matter Expert, Jon has delivered sworn testimony before the House Committee on Homeland Security, Border & Maritime Security Subcommittee regarding the status of cybersecurity in U.S. Ports. He supported the U.S. State Department Diplomatic Security Service’s Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program in Bogota, Colombia and obtained Recognized Security Organization (RSO) designation from the Republic of Cameroon, Ministry of Transport, to provide ISPS program compliance and implementation services for Cameroon’s critical port facilities.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Colorado and is a qualified Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO). Jon is a lifelong Houston resident and proud dad to his stepson who is currently working towards a degree in mechanical engineering at Texas Tech University.
