BIMCO is the world’s largest international shipping association, with over 2,000 members in around 130 countries, representing 62% of the world’s tonnage. Our global membership includes shipowners, operators, managers, brokers, and agents. We are a non-profit organisation and have three areas of work:

  • – We’ve been creating contracts and clauses since 1905. We believe that standardised terms create equality, fairness and support business, and we believe this matters.

  • – We work to promote transparent and non-discriminatory standards and harmonisation within the shipping industry.

  • – We offer a range of products in support of the wider shipping industry, not just our members, from our maritime training courses, our online contract editor SmartCon, ship performance tool SHIP PI and BIMCO publications.

Founded in 1929, the Greater Houston Port Bureau is a member driven, non-profit trade organization dedicated to promoting commerce and cooperation in the maritime industry.

Today, the Port Bureau helps over 240 member companies work together to promote cooperation and efficiency within the community to provide:

  • – Vessel Information – vessel movement information and reports

  • – Port Information-monthly magazine, port updates, special projects, and grant writing

  • – Networking – monthly luncheons, annual formal dinner and golf tournament, and member directory

  • – Advocacy – community outreach, harbor maintenance and dredging support, port efficiency, maritime awareness and education, and maritime security

  • – Research-data and analytics, economic impact studies, special industry reports

Blue Sky Maritime Coalition

The Blue Sky Maritime Coalition acts to accelerate the U.S. and Canada maritime value chain’s pathway to net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by jointly developing and executing a roadmap to a commercially viable net-zero emission logistics value chain. Cross-functional collaboration will be utilized to enable swift mobilization and tangible, sustainable results.

Through focused Workstreams, the Coalition:

  • – Facilitates collaboration among industry stakeholders regionally and globally

  • – Identifies, evaluates, encourages, and engages in commercial and technical pathways and projects that deliver significant near-term reductions in GHG emissions and lead to commercially viable net-zero emissions.

The Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) is a key forum for promoting cooperation and development among the National Port Authorities of the Americas, focusing on secure, competitive, and sustainable port operations.

The CIP is the only permanent forum that unites the National Port Authorities of the 34 member countries of the Organization of American States (OAS). Its primary goal is to enhance the development of a secure, competitive, sustainable, and inclusive maritime-port sector across the Americas.

The CIP operates under four main mandates:

  • – Policy Dialogue: Facilitating discussions on port policies and best practices.

  • – Capacity Building: Offering training and resources to improve port operations.

  • – Technical Assistance: Providing support for port development projects.

  • – Cooperation with the Private Sector: Engaging with private entities to foster collaboration and innovation in port management

Port Management Association of the Caribbean (PMAC)

The Port Management Association of the Caribbean (PMAC) seeks to improve the proficiency of member ports and the quality of services provided to users, specifically through the facilitation of appropriate training. Moreover, amidst developments within the maritime industry, the Association strives to remain relevant by delivering critical services to members, which entail the sharing of experience, information, and ideas, as well as advocacy and representation at multilateral levels.

PMAC performs an integral role as a node in the network of Caribbean ports, stakeholders, and strategic partners, by monitoring developments, building closer cooperation, and coordinating relevant response of members to industry changes and requirements.
