The CIP is the only permanent forum that unites the National Port Authorities of the 34 member countries of the Organization of American States (OAS). Its primary goal is to enhance the development of a secure, competitive, sustainable, and inclusive maritime-port sector across the Americas.
The CIP operates under four main mandates:
-
Policy Dialogue: Facilitating discussions on port policies and best practices.
-
Capacity Building: Offering training and resources to improve port operations.
-
Technical Assistance: Providing support for port development projects.
-
Cooperation with the Private Sector: Engaging with private entities to foster collaboration and innovation in port management
