ASHLAND CITY RIVER PORT PROJECT
The State of Tennessee is developing the Ashland City River Port, a $30 million multimodal, multi-commodity inland river port on a 40-acre site at mile marker 162 on the Cumberland River in Ashland City, Cheatham County. The project is a public-private partnership between the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), Cheatham County, and Ingram Marine Group, a Nashville-based barge carrier.
The Ashland City River Port is a strategic inland river facility that will integrate river barge transport with road and rail networks, offering a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to trucking while boosting regional trade and employment. The port will serve as a hub for multi-modal freight, combining river barge, truck and rail transport.
